My style leans toward rustic and vintage, but I'm up for anything, including lifestyle photography. And my favorite photos are the not-necessarily-so-posed-moments where I can capture the real feeling of the moment. I want your photo session to be full of fun and smiles and laughter, and I want you to look back on these photos years down the road and remember how you felt at this time.
I come from a family of 4 kids, and my husband is one of 10, family is really important to us. And I love getting to meet you and your families, and getting to know you. That's the best part of this "job" for me, I can't wait to be your photographer!
I purchased my first DSLR in 2012 and soon discovered taking pictures of people was my passion! I have been blessed with how photography has grown into a business with the help of family and friends who keep coming back, and the new community of people that I am meeting all the time.
As well as a photographer I am an OB Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, in Madison, WI where my other passion is helping Mom's & Families through the labor process. It can be a stressful job, but it is so rewarding too! So when I bought my first camera, I just wanted a new hobby, but it has turned into so much more than that, and I'm really grateful.
With the evolvement of my basement into a formal studio in the fall of 2013 (see blog post) I can now do Newborn & Child Portraits Year Round. And with turning AmyHeltPhotography into an LLC in the Spring of 2014, and the addition of Weddings the Fall of 2014, my business is ever changing and I'm enjoying every bit of it ...except maybe the bookwork, I'll be honest...that part I could do without, lol! :)
Working as an RN with a photography business on the side requires constant juggling to find balance because my first priority will always be my family; my husband Steve and my son Logan. But having this creative outlet has helped me grow in ways I didn't know I could. Every time I book another session I do a little happy dance!
Til Next Time!
