Hello Friends,

You know how when you're little and you love animals, you always think, I'm gonna be a Veterinarian when I grow up!  Yep that was me, growing up on a Farm outside Lodi, Wisconsin.  Being out in nature and playing outside with my animals was my favorite thing to do!  I had names for every cat, kitten, dog, rabbit, sheep, and once in a while even a chicken or a cow.  Being outside all the time I really learned to appreciate nature and all the tiny details around me.  And from there my love for beautiful landscapes blossomed.

Life went on and I got married to a very handy guy from a big farming family, even bigger than mine, he's no. 6 out of 10 kids.  We love family, and we are blessed with a lot of it!  The two of us have been married since 2001, and have 1 amazing son of our own.  And the two of them have been hard at work, helping the crew remodel our basement studio and living space!  My story includes endometriosis & infertility, battles I'm not afraid to talk about.  Now I get to spoil my rescue doodle Gus, my shadow 24/7, while enjoying my coffee (or wine), and planning how I'm going to create my next session to make it awesome for you!

I never became a Veterinarian, I actually became an OB Nurse instead!  For almost 20 years I got to help mama's through labor, or c-sections, to bring their little one's skin to skin for the first time, and it was AMAZING, every birth was a miracle!  In 2012 I decided to buy my first really nice camera. Funny story, it was that or a guitar, and I didn't think I had a future on stage, so I went with the camera...I think I made the right choice!  For my musical career, I stick to singing and playing the piano from the comfort of my own living room, lol.  At first photography was a hobby, but when clients kept coming back, it became a "side hustle" until 2019 when I decided to completely switch gears and I took the leap!  I quit my job at the hospital to take AmyHeltPhotography full-time, and I haven't looked back since!  A global pandemic wasn't part of my business plan, but despite that, I'm still here and loving every minute of it!  Of course Newborns are my Jam, but my favorite photos are when I capture you feeling relaxed and enjoying yourself with your family.  And getting to know you and what you're passionate about.  And capturing couples lovin' on each other, and the excitement of starting your lives together, and hopefully watching your families grow. That's the good stuff!  I can't wait to work with you and get to know you better, thanks for checking out my page!  ~Amy
